    Tesla established its first Canadian research partnership with Dalhousie University to undertake groundbreaking research in lithium-ion battery technologies. Tesla also has a research team in Halifax exploring, assessing, and pre-qualifying Li-ion electrode materials.

  • Lockheed Martin

    Lockheed Martin services national and international clients from Halifax and is a partner in the Canadian Surface Combatant design contract led by Irving Shipbuilding.

  • Planetary Technologies

  • NOVONIX

    With the rise of EVs, NOVONIX has established itself as a global leader in advanced battery materials and technology.   • Bear Head

    Bear Head Energy Inc. is working with the Eskasoni First Nation to produce green hydrogen and ammonia at scale in Nova Scotia for export to global markets.

  • Centre for Ocean Venture and Entrepreneurship (COVE)

    COVE is a collaborative facility for applied innovation in the ocean sector where ocean technology enterprises can commercialize and grow.

  • Dalhousie University

    Dalhousie University is a leader in ocean science and clean and climate tech research, undertaking groundbreaking R&D in battery technology, ocean technology, clean and NextGen materials, and renewable energy.

  • Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO)

    BIO is Canada’s largest centre for ocean research with 600 staff from the federal departments of Fisheries and Oceans, Environment and Climate Change, Natural Resources, and National Defence.

  • The PIER (Port Innovation, Engagement, and Research)

    The PIER is a global centre of excellence for research and collaboration in port logistics, management and development. It is the first supply chain and logistics living lab of its kind in Canada.

  • Halifax Port Authority
