How we help

When disaster strikes, businesses are often met with urgent and unprecedented needs. In the days directly following a disaster, some businesses need financial support, some need help reopening and attracting customers, while others need mental health support for their staff and family.

Halifax Partnership’s SmartBusiness team works in collaboration with partners such as Halifax Regional Municipality, Government of Nova Scotia, Discover Halifax, and Invest Nova Scotia, to help businesses across the municipality access the support they need when impacted by a disaster such as wildfires, floods, hurricanes, and winter storms. In addition, governments look to us to help assess the resources required; by understanding the impact and disruption a disaster has on our community, our team can inform governments of the needs of our business community.

Prepare your business for the next disaster

Our Business Recovery & Continuity toolkit helps businesses move from response to recovery quicker. The toolkit is designed to help small and medium sized businesses build a solid plan to prepare for unexpected disruptions and get back on track as quickly as possible following a disaster.
